Natural Heritage Series - These monthly hands-on nature workshops will give participants in-depth looks at many of nature’s underappreciated marvels.  The series is open to people sixteen years and older unless otherwise stated and registration is required.  Here’s a look at our upcoming schedule:

All about Cranes
February 23          10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Each spring, over a half million Sandhill Cranes congregate on the Platte River in one of the world’s greatest migration spectacles.  Along with these majestic birds, tens-of-thousands of bird watchers from all over the world flock to Audubon’s Rowe Sanctuary to see and hear this astounding migration display.

Would you like to learn more about these birds and why people come to see them?  Then join us, February 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for All About Cranes.  We will discuss crane biology and behavior, and take walks to our viewing blinds.  Cost is $35 per person.  Lunch will be provided.  Please be prepared for the weather.

Please register by February 20th or for more information, contact Keanna at 308-468-5282.

Crane Season Training
March 1          10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Would you like to be part of Rowe Sanctuary’s professional volunteer team that makes Crane Season successful?  Well here is your chance!

Rowe has volunteer opportunities galore for dedicated, sincere individuals that care about cranes, the Platte River and Nebraska.  Whether it’s being a guide for our field trips to see the cranes, greeting visitors, taking reservations, assisting with educational programs, or doing maintenance we have a job for you.

Anyone considering volunteering is strongly urged to attend this workshop.  It is designed to introduce you to Rowe Sanctuary, the sandhill cranes, the different volunteer opportunities, and how we conduct Crane Season.

For more information or to register, please call Keanna or Tony at 308-468-5282.  Charge for this workshop is $15 to cover the cost of materials, an official name tag and lunch.  We ask those taking this workshop to volunteer 20 hours for Rowe over the calendar year.
