At Rowe Sanctuary

First Sundays at Rowe

Join us for the next First Sundays at Rowe on February 7th starting at 1:30 p.m.  Education Director Keanna Leonard will instruct this fun, interactive, family-friendly program where you will learn how to use binoculars and field guides, and steps to help you identify birds.  Then you will put your new found skills to work and help our resident volunteer birders identify birds out along the trails.  For those not wanting to brave the cold, we can sit at the windows and watch our wintertime feathered friends feasting at the feeders. If you don’t have your own set of binoculars, no need to worry.  We will have binoculars you can use.

To help ward off the winter chill, we will have hot chocolate and cider ready.  So come, bring the whole family, tell your friends and join us for a great afternoon exploring nature.

Big Bend Audubon Society's Monthly Meeting Schedule

Note:  These meetings start at 3 p.m. on the dates listed, are open to the public and there is no admission for the programs.  For questions about the programs or meetings, please contact Grant Newbold at 308-830-3070.

February 21, 2010 - Dudley Friskopp of Kearney will be presenting on ocean floor research.  Dudley participated in an ocean floor research project this past summer and will be sharing his experiences with us.

April 18, 2010 - Harlan Pankratz of Kearney will be presenting on wildflowers.  He is an avid wildflower photographer and will be sharing images he has taken in Nebraska and the surrounding states, as well as providing information about the plants themselves.
